Milk from the parlour

The milk on your breakfast table comes from the adjacent milk parlour. From our neighbour, farmer and cousin Sepp Kröll. There are fifteen milker cows, that have names; they live next door, eat flowers, hay and herbs and their milk is prized.

Water from our mountain spring

The water throughout the Thurnerhof originates from four of our own springs. These are located on the mountain above the hotel. This spring water reaches the hotel via natural pressure that is created by the slope.

Beef

The majority of our beef is sourced from farmers in this region. Their cows are kept in the middle of local meadows, pasture lands and woodlands. With commitment, care and attention, and consideration. Fully in keeping with the natural cycle.

Lamb

The lamb in the Thurnerhof ‘Schöpserne’ stew comes from Metzgerei Feiersinger in Hinterglemm. They work regionally and seasonally there. And the lamb there comes directly from the Alpine pasture and is slaughtered naturally.

Ewes’ milk

We get our ewes’ milk from the only organic ewes’ milk producers in the region. And they are located in Vorderglemm. And this connection is something you can taste. Just like the the abundance of herbs that are part of the sheeps’ diets.

Organic waste

Green waste from the garden, used cooking fats and vegetable waste from the kitchen does not end up in the biodegradable waste bin here. It is consciously used to create natural gas and electricity.

Heating

The heat for our rooms, hot water, fresh air facilities and heating for the pool comes from our own heating facility. And in turn, that is fed by regional wood.

Cleaning

We clean the beds, rooms and windows using biodegradable and organic cleaning materials. Steam and vinegar. We also pay attention to environmentally-friendly measures when it comes to preparing the water in our pool too.

E-charging stations

E-cars are parked in the Thurnerhof car port and docked to the electrical circuit. Two covered charging stations from Salzburg AG are available. These are activated for a fee using your own charge card, or via a QR code.
