The former train station building was demolished and replaced by a contemporary waiting area, as stated by the federal railway company. The platforms were also refurbished, including the installation of lifts and adaptations to the height of the platforms to make barrier-free access on and off trains possible. The platforms were also extended for double-decker trains and a contemporary waiting area was created.
